Stochastic Model for the Asynchronous Scheduling Problem

A two-stage stochastic programming model is formulated for a distributed scheduling problem with scenario tree structure. The model allows independent and self-interested job agents to request resources in an asynchronous fashion. Rather than an exact starting time, the central agent gives a time window for one coming job immediately. The final schedule is made based on the total weighted tardiness and the given time window after all requests are received. The traditional L-Shaped method cannot be directly adopted because of the integer variables in the second stage. A new adjusted L-Shaped algorithm is developed to solve it based on the problem properties
